Coming into 2018, I was so full of hope and expectancy but knowing how my life is set up, I knew the “feeling” wouldn’t last or sustain me so I decided to get a notebook and fill it with bible verses and songs that incite hope in me. Below are a few bible verses I speak over myself or say out loud when I enter a space of hopelessness.
Isaiah 55:10-11 (ESV)
10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 43:18-19 (ESV)
18 “Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
Hebrews 6:19 (ESV)
19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,
Psalm 18:33-34 (ESV)
33 He made my feet like the feet of a deer
and set me secure on the heights.
34 He trains my hands for war,
so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV)
18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord,[a] are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.[b] For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
