Life Lately | January 2019

a simple calling blog

Coming to you with a January post in February, who do I think I am?

How are you guys? Tell me in the comments.

about my new year goals

I wrote about my goal for 2019 in this post HERE .To be honest with you, I have not been working on them the way I wanted to. I have been a tad busy but I do not think that is an excuse for neglecting my own personal development. So I am still working on it…

what have I been doing?

I have been preparing for one of my favorite’s big day. I have been reading quite a bit as well, 3 books down! This year, I will rule over my reading challenge on goodreads.com. Oh I subscribed to book of the month and I am so excited about it. New hard copy book every month and I will be getting the rest of my books from the library. Praise hands!

about January

I don’t get the whole January was soooo long memes because to me January was so short. So so short and I literally don’t know what happened or how it happened. I’ve been just in a daze, not intentional in anything I am doing. I’m just here. This is not how I wanted to start out the year, but it is what it is. Nothing eventful really happened in January, but I appreciate January’s slowness and simpleness. I think people usually think January is long month due to the “nothingness” that happens and it being right after the busier months of November and December.

January shapes it self to be a month of rest but we live in a society where being busy is praised and having something to do all the time is encouraged. So it does make sense that having nothing to do will stress people out more than having something to do.

word of the year

Focus.

I decided I wasn’t going to have a word of the year for 2019 but I have an idea of what I want this year to look like for me and even the rest of my life. Focus, was the best word I could come up with but the word isn’t pretty to me, so  I don’t want to fully claim it. But I want to live a life that focuses on the MOST important thing in my life. (not sharing what I deem important) I’m always disappointed in myself because I know what I need to focus on but don’t, I get distracted. This year, I want to cultivate focus on what matters most.

Your turn,

How was January for you?
